Preserving Medicare

Mark will work to reduce health care costs for older Alaskans by increasing Medicare reimbursements and creating new incentives for doctors and health care professionals to participate in Medicare. Medicare reforms should also include risk-sharing or catastrophic reinsurance or other proposals to ensure that health plans compete on keeping beneficiaries healthy rather than cherry-picking those who are healthy to begin with. In addition, 55-64 year olds should be able to buy into Medicare.
